English in Barbados is the pioneer of holiday English language courses in Barbados, an island paradise in the Caribbean.
Most English speaking countries in the world now have an English language industry. Barbados is a new destination for a language school but in many ways it is a tropical version of England.
Barbados is an English speaking country which gained independence from Britain in 1966. The first British settlers arrived in 1627 so for over 300 years there was a fusion of British and African cultures and traditions. Barbados has even been described as "Little England". Place names are reminiscent of England's south coast and the legal, education and political systems owe much to the British influence.
Our hotel-based English language course in Barbados is something different. We offer:
- a Caribbean "Cocktail" Course with tuition in small classes and an inclusive excursion programme
- Individual Tuition in some of the best hotels on the exclusive west coast

Our topic based English language courses will introduce you to a new world. You will leave Barbados knowing a lot about the life of the local people (Bajans) - wonderfully friendly and hospitable people. Rum, rum shops, sugar cane, slavery, the development of tourism, calypso, local festivals, fishing, local cuisine and architecture, all feature in our lessons and help to make our courses a truly unique experience.
